To apply for entry to the MA Musical Theatre
programme in September 2020, you will need to use the UCAS
Conservatoires service at www.ucas.com/conservatoires.
Applying Through UCAS Conservatoires
The UCAS Conservatoires (previously CUKAS) system was originally
set up to accept applications for music programmes at
Conservatoires, to ensure you are not confused by certain
terminology please read the information below.
- The UCAS Conservatoires Institution Code for the Royal Welsh
College of Music & Drama is R59 and the Course
Code for MA Musical Theatre is 713F
- When applying, you will be required to select a main
specialism/discipline, please select your vocal type (e.g. Voice
(Soprano)) for the MA Musical Theatre programme.
- Within the application you will be asked for details of your
'practical/music referee'. For musical theatre this should be a
performance reference written by your lecturer, Head of
Department, or any other appropriate person who can comment on your
performance abilities.

The website will allow you to manage your application using a
unique username and password. You can access the service 24 hours a
day from anywhere in the world to create, submit and monitor the
progress of your application.
Registration and Audition Fees
There is a one-off registration fee of £25 to register (for
entry 2020) to use the service. The Royal Welsh College of
Music & Drama also charges an audition administration fee of
£47 to cover the cost involved in arranging and delivering
auditions. Both fees are payable through UCAS Conservatoires.
The College is committed to providing access to training for the
most talented students regardless of background or financial means.

waiver policy is designed to support applicants for whom their
financial circumstances may be a barrier to auditioning.
Application Dates
Applications open from September 2019 and the deadline for
on-time applications is 15 January 2020.
Audition Dates
Auditions are likely to take place in the Autumn of
2019.
Applying from Outside the UK
