Kathryn is a graduate of Royal Northern College of Music
and Eastman School of Music, New York where she studied harp
performance and literature. During her time at Eastman she
was in receipt of a fellowship and teaching assistantship and won
the Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship to the United
States to further her studies.
Kathryn has worked as an orchestral player in
the United States and Germany. She was Principal harpist at the
Heidelberg Opera Festival and also took up residency as Senior Harp
Instructor at the Interlochen Arts Academy’s Summer Programme in
Michigan for a number of years. Kathryn’s work then took her to the
Middle East where she performed as a residential harpist in Abu
Dhabi and Doha, Qatar for three years.
Kathryn now works across the UK, teaching at
RWCMD’s Senior and Junior Departments and managing an extensive
studio of private students. She also holds regular workshops and
recitals. Her solo and orchestral broadcasts include work for ITV,
BBC TV and Radio.
