
Recognised as one of Wales’ foremost harp teachers, Meinir
Heulyn graduated from University College Cardiff, before furthering
her harp studies at Genova’s Conservatorio. She was principal
harpist in the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera for 30 years,
where she performed and recorded extensively.
Meinir is a director of the publishing company Alaw and a
pioneer of music for young harpists, having published many volumes
of harp music, including two best-selling series: Famous Music
for the Harp and A Celtic Feast. Harp students will
be familiar with her music which appears on the syllabus for the
ABRSM examinations.
Meinir is co-founder of Telynau Morgannwg and Coleg Telyn Cymru
and appears regularly as a soloist and accompanist at major
festivals worldwide.
