Lauretta Bloomer

British pianist Lauretta Bloomer studied piano with Yonty Solomon at Royal College of Music in London.  Her love of chamber music led her to further her studies at the University of Vienna where she studied with Georg Ebert and Heinz Medjimorc.

She has performed in masterclasses with Leon Fleisher and Tatjana Nikolayeva in Salzburg and was pianist in residence at the University of Fine Arts in Banff, Canada.  Although she is now back in the UK, Lauretta has lived many years on the continent and during this time has formed long lasting musical partnerships with top artists with whom she performs regularly.  With a broad repertoire encompassing all periods and styles, Lauretta is equally at home playing on period instruments or performing contemporary music.  As a soloist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist Lauretta has performed in Asia, the USA, Australia and throughout Europe.

During her years in the Netherlands, Lauretta worked with all the major orchestras and was repetitor for the International Opera Studio for twelve years.

She has given concerts at many international music festivals including the Ljetni Festival in Kovinj, Croatia, the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt, Austria and the Gergiev Festival in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Alongside performing, Lauretta enjoys teaching the piano as well as coaching chamber music to instrumentalists and is delighted to be able to do this and share her experience with the students of RWCMD which she joined in 2016.
