Allie Edge began her career in Mid Wales,
working for Theatr Powys and the award winning Mid Powys Youth
Theatre. She moved to Cardiff to study at Cardiff
Metropolitan University (Formerly UWIC) and RWCMD; completing a
Foundation Course in Art & Design (1992), a BA (Hons) in
Theatre Design (2000), a Post Graduate Certificate in Higher
Education (2004), and a Foundation Certificate in Photography
(2014).
Allie has worked at RWCMD since 2001 as well
as pursuing a successful freelance career working in theatre, film
and television since 1992. Her position at the College
involves supervising students working on productions, organising
the Costume Department, providing links to the industry, teaching
costume skills and contributing to the development of the BA and MA
Design for Performance courses. Her freelance work includes costume
design and styling for TV, film, music videos and commercials as
well as theatre and dance.
A design for the National Theatre of Wales in
2012 led to an international relationship with the Berlin based
company Dorky Park, including work in China and Germany in 2015
(Schaubühne, Berlin) and Argentina (Opera House, Buenos Aires) in
2016. Her most recent work for film has been for RWCMD graduate Tom
Cullen in his directorial debut staring Tatiana Maslany and Jay
Duplass.
