Lucy trained at Central School of Art in
London with Pamela Howard and at NYU Tisch School of the Arts, New
York. She has worked as a set and costume designer for theatre in
Britain and abroad, including at the Ambassadors Theatre, Gielgud
Theatre and Arts Theatre in the West End, Royal Court Theatre,
Hampstead Theatre; Gate Theatre; National Theatre Studio; Sheffield
Crucible; Glasgow Citizens; Stephen Joseph Theatre Scarborough;
Salisbury Playhouse; Bath Theatre Royal; English Touring Theatre
and English Touring Opera; Theatre Projects Tokyo, and Copenhagen
Opera.
Lucy was the recipient of the Bunkacho
(Japanese Cultural Exchange) government fellowship programme for
artists from abroad where she spent a year studying traditional
Japanese theatre. She has been part of numerous theatre in
education projects for The South Bank Centre, Royal Court Theatre,
English Touring Opera and Guildhall School of Music and Drama and
has had the post of Artist in Residence in various educational
settings. Lucy recently studied on the MA course in Fine Art at the
University of the West of England and continues to develop her Fine
Art practice alongside her teaching and work in the theatre.
Lucy became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)
in 2018.
