Jeffrey Stewart

Jeff Stewart trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, winning the Harold Rosenthal Award for Outstanding Achievement before completing his studies at the National Opera Studio in London.

He then embarked on an international career as and opera and concert singer, which has seen him sing over 60 operatic roles and most of the great oratorio works. In the UK, he has appeared in leading roles for the Royal Opera, Covent Garden, English National Opera, Opera North, Opera Northern Ireland, English Touring Opera and Opera Holland Park as well as several smaller companies.

Overseas Jeff has appeared at the Deutsche Oper and Rhein, Düßeldorf, Der Komischen Oper Berlin, Mecklenburgisches Stadtstheater Schwerin, Bremen, Oldenburg, Coburg, Gera, and the Macedonian National Opera.

His operatic performances have included appearances in the title role in Peter Grimes, Ernesto (Don Pasquale), The Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto), Romeo (Romeo and Juliette), Lenski  (Eugene Onegin), Nemorino (L'Elisir D'Amore), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Rodolfo (La Boheme), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Canio (I Pagliacci), Alfredo (La Traviata) and Nadir (The Pearl Fishers) amongst many others.

As a concert singer Jeff has appeared at most of the major UK venues, as well as appearances in Europe, USA , South Africa and China. He also appears regularly in recitals.

Recordings include the role of The Duke of Mantua on the album " Simply Opera" and a solo CD of Italian songs called "Come Prima" with the pianist, Audrey Hyland.

Jeff is also a noted Choral Conductor. He is the Musical Director of Bledlow Church Choir and Uxbridge Choral Society, and is frequently invited to give workshops for other choirs at home and abroad.
