Accessible Facilities

We are committed to making RWCMD easily accessible and welcoming to everyone. All our public venues are fully accessible, either on one level or via a lift.

In order to help us help you when you visit RWCMD, please tell us about any special requirements you, or anyone in your party, may have when you book your seats.

Seating Requirements

We have a limited number of dedicated wheelchair and assistant/carer spaces set aside for every performance (if you require any information about our free personal assistant or carer ticket scheme, please take a look at the Hynt information provided). These can be booked over the phone or in person at our Box Office.

If you have any specific seating requirements, such as needing to sit near a door or at the end of an aisle, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your request. If the event has unreserved seating it may still be possible to set aside certain seats as required, just get in touch with the Box Office on 029 2039 1391.

Access & Lifts

Our main foyer is all on one level, with a tiled floor surface, and is accessed by automatic door. The space provides plenty of seating and also contains our fully accessible café area.

Some of our venues are fully accessible without using a lift. These include the Bute Theatre, Weston Gallery, Corus Recital Room and S4C Studio Theatre, as well as the dedicated disabled spaces at the back of the stalls in the Dora Stoutzker Hall and Richard Burton Theatre.

Toilets can be found on the lower level, accessible by staircase or lift. We have disabled facilities and a baby changing area.

Please ask if you require a member of staff to help you to your seat, or require assistance in locating anything within the building and we will be happy to help. We also have an audio version of our What’s On Guide.

Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere in the building, including the theatres. If you’d like to sit somewhere with a little more room, such as the end of an aisle, please mention this when booking and we’ll do our best to assist.

We are always open to suggestions to further improve our accessibility. Please let us know if you have any suggestions or any additional requirements.
