
As well as the weekly Young Actors Studio courses, we also
provide a number of shorter courses and summer
schools in a range of theatre disciplines, offering you an
opportunity to develop key skills and experience in a fun, friendly
and supportive environment.
Technical Theatre & Design
Young People’s Production Arts (YPPA) Summer Course
Love drama, but not acting? Interested in how theatre
productions and live events are put together? Are you between 15
and 18 and have a passion for art and design, science and
technology, craft, fashion and textiles?
An exciting new Summer School at Royal Welsh College of Music
& Drama will give you five days of intensive workshops,
exploring the exciting world of working backstage and the career
pathways that are available.
This course has been specifically designed to give young
production students an insight into day-to-day life in a drama
school and introduce you to a range of theatre skills that will
help you gain confidence and experience for the future.
No previous experience is required; if you are creative, curious
and interested in how theatre productions and live events are put
together, you are just who we are looking for!
We will be hosting workshops with industry professionals in
costume, set, stage management, lighting, sound, and many more,
working towards a sharing of your work to family and friends at the
end of the week.
Places are allocated on a first come, first served basis, with a
limit of 14 participants, and you must be available for all date
and times.
