Simon is an award-winning theatre maker and currently Director
of Lucid. After training as at RADA, Simon worked as an actor for
twelve years with many of the UK’s leading directors and companies.
Until 2007, he was Artistic Director of the national company for
new writing in Wales – the multi-award-winning Sgript Cymru, where
he was responsible for a rolling programme of new work including
over twenty productions. In 2009, Simon won a highly-prized
Creative Wales Award from the Arts Council of Wales. In 2010, he
was made Associate Director at the Torch Theatre in Milford Haven.
Recently, among other work, Simon has devised and directed
Pea! with emerging theatre company Likely Story, created
The Elsinore Project for Volcano Theatre, directed
Flowers From Tunisia for the Torch Theatre and worked with
playwrights on Sherman Cymru’s Spread the Word programme.
He is currently developing a version of Chekhov’s early play
Platonov for Lucid and a project for National Theatre
Wales for 2013.
